XTI Aircraft Company is exploring options for future assembly and support of its hybrid-electric TriFan 600 in Guizhou Province, China.
The Chaparral aerial cargo system proves that a talented small team can build a “world-class” VTOL aircraft, said Elroy Air CEO David Merrill.
XTI said the patent for its hybrid-electric TriFan 600 will increase the value of its IP assets and allow it to continue to expand its global market.
Crowdfunding has been “an important source of working capital” for XTI, but the company said its focus and financing plans have been evolving.
GE and XTI will now work together to define a series hybrid architecture for the TriFan 600, a five-passenger, ducted fan VTOL aircraft.
Continental will optimize a Jet-A fueled engine for hybrid power generation within VerdeGo Aero’s Integrated Distributed Electric Propulsion concept.
